The perpetual trophy of the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup for the British Open & Veuve Clicquot, the title sponsor since 1995.

July 20, 2014: Dubai Polo plays at top form securing their win of the 2014 22-goal Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup for the British Open at Cowdray Park, defeating King Power 13-11 in regulation time and giving polo spectators a thrilling game. The Peter Holman Most Valuable Player Award went to Adolfo Cambiaso and his mare 'Dolfina Primicia' received the Best Playing Pony honors which was presented by Gaston Lauhle on behalf of the Argentina Polo Pony Breeders Association.


July 20, 2014: The Dubai Polo Team, Adolfo Cambiaso, Rashid Albwardy, Alastair Paterson, & Diego Cavanagh raising the perpetual trophy of the 22-goal Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup for the British Open polo tournament at Cowdray Park.

July 16, 2014: Dubai & King Power advance to the finals after their victories in the Semifinals of the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup for the British Open, defeating Halcyon Gallery & Lucchese respectively. Sunday's exciting final is scheduled for 3pm UK time (10am EST).


July 14, 2014: In the biggest upset of the season, the defending champions Zacara was reined-in as Halcyon Gallery edged them out of the tournament in Sunday's Quarterfinals of the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup for the British Open. Dubai, Lucchese & King power have also earned their Semifinal spots which are scheduled for Wednesday; the results determining Sunday's finalists. Subsidiary finals are scheduled for Saturday, Sunday & Tuesday.


July 13, 2014: Dubai defeated UAE Polo 11-10 in the quarterfinals of the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup.


July 13, 2014: Talandracas defeated EFG Bank Aravali 8-5 in the subsidiary final for the Jack Gannon Cup.


July 12, 2014: Lucchese defeated Black Bears 10-9 for the Milland Cup & advance to the semifinals of the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup


July 11, 2014: Quarterfinals set for this week with the subsidiary finals scheduled for continued polo action. Dubai Polo taking the reins of the unbeaten team thus far, Zacara being reminded that all winning streaks eventually end. Dubai defeated Zacara 14-8 earlier in the week although both teams were already assured a spot in the quarterfinal games.

July 2, 2014: High-goal polo action continues in the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup for the British Open. HB Polo, Zacara, Lucchese, Black Bears, King Power, & Dubai Polo have all won their 2nd round games with Zacara remaining unbeaten with their win over Halycon Gallery in today's game, the start of round 3.

June 29, 2014: Zacara wins their 2nd game, defeating UAE Polo in a close & exciting match for the Midhurst Town Cup. It wasn't until the 6th Chukker that Zacara took the lead & maintained it long enough to secure their win, final score 8-7.


June 30, 2014: Hon Lila Pearson presents the Midhurst Town Cup polo trophy to Lyndon Lea & the Zacara Polo Team after their
2nd round win in the 22-goal Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup for the British Open

June 27, 2014: Lots of polo action in the opening week of games in the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup for the British Open. UAE Polo, Zacara, Lucchese, Talandracas, Black Bears, King Power, Halycon Gallery & Dubai Polo have all won their 1st round games. See all results below.

June 24, 2014: In the 2 opening games of the 22-goal Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup, UAE Polo defeated EFG Bank Aravali 10-9 & in the 2nd game, Zacara defeated Thai Polo 14-7, receiving the Carlos Gracida Memorial Trophy presented by Charles & Lila Pearson & by Carlos' 2 sons, Carlitos & Mariano Gracida. Carlos Gracida, 10-time winner of the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup, will have a permanent trophy in his memory at Cowdray Park. Carlos Gracida died in February 2104 after a tragic fall during a polo match in Wellington, Florida.
